INTRODUCTION :
NSS was launched in 1969,the Birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi.It is one of the center sector schemes of Govt.of India and a flagship program of Ministry of Youth &Sports.Departmentof youth affairs. The trust of NSS is on character building and personality devolvement of students through community service in a variety of areas of social concern and importance
AIMS :
The Programs aims to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead of life dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. It also provided helps in natural and manmade disasters by proving food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.
OBJECTIVES :
- To enable the students to understand the community in which they work.
- To understand themselves in relation to their community.
- To identify needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
- To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
- To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
- Todevelop competence, required for group living and sharing of responsibilities.
- To Gain skill mobilizing community participants.
- To acquired leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
- To develop capacity to meet emergencies and national disaster.
- To practice national integration and social harmony.
MOTTO OF NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME :
The motto of NSS ‘ Not Me, But You’, reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds s the need for self-less service. NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other persons point of view and also show consideration to other living beings. The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrine in this motto, which underline on the belief that the welfare of an individual is untimelydependent on the welfare of the society on the whole and therefore the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.
LOGO OF NATIONAL SERVICE :
The symbol for the NSS has based on the giant Rath wheel of the world famous Konark Sun temple (The black Pagoda) situated in Orissa, India. The wheel portrays the cycle of creation, preservation and released signifies the movement in life across time and space, the symbol thus stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social change.

NSS / Extension Activities 2015-to 2018-19

- A) Major Construction work done :
- Road repairing and construction road patch-up work.
- WE have done gutter cleaning and repairing work with the help of NSS volunteers.
- In the vicinity of various villages and schools we have done maintenance of gardens, garden cleaning, planting useful plants etc.
- Through NSS volunteers we have taken the various task of cleaning lakes, small rivers, rivers bank and construct work for the development of lakes and rivers.
- For the development of farmers we have taken a different initiative in that we have given them the importance of saving water.
- With the help of NSS volunteers several times we have cleaned various villages.
- B) Health Awareness Program :
- In the college and various villages we have organized blood donation camps, hemoglobin camp (HB), Eye sight test camp.
- In the colleges we have organized a comprehensive health camp for all diseases.
- Medicine distribution, camp also organized in the college in that we have distributed various important tables, medicines, first aid kids, sanitary napkin extra.
C) Agricultural & Animals related activity :
- In various villages we have organized health checkup camp for useful and pet animals.
- Several times we have invited voluntary doctors for follow-up and guidance to the farmers.
- NSS department has organized a workshops for the upliftment of farmers.

- D) Social Activity :
- Through NSS department has done survey of various villages in that categorically we have classified. Various types of information like Population evaluation, BPL ratio, unemployment, Literary rate etc.
- The have organized various awareness program. In the villages like Aid, awareness program, Dowry system, Health environment, save girl child, superstation etc.
- NSS department constructed organized street way, street plays and creating awareness on important platform like voting, clean India.
- We have organized awareness camp on cashless economy and banking transaction.
- We have organized guidance program on “Eradication Program” of superstation.
- We have organized awareness program on importance of trees in human’s life for that we have organized guidance program.
- On the 9th Aug. we have organized a special program to salute ours soldiers on that day. We have conducted program like speech, rally etc.
- NSS department has taken a new initiative 6 on that occasion. We have collected guest idols, from sits devotees , instead of polluting water. Similarly on the Ganesh Festival. We shave collected garbage and other material from river bank, lake etc.
- On the occasion of yoga day we have conducted a practical yoga camp and guidance program.
- We are constantly trying to create awareness regarding various addictions.
- We have organized awareness camp on the importance of toilet for the family.
Contribution to National Development –
- The students of our college have participated in various sporting events as well as NSS programs at state and University level.
- The contribution of NSS to community service and nation building has been peerless. The participation of the volunteer in camps and social events has enhanced the process of communalharmony and cultural exchange.
- The disaster management cell (from volunteers of NSS) of the college has proved to be a great help for the neighborhood communities.
- Street plays have been a remarkable feature of the college and have successfully spread the messages in health education, voterawareness -Rally AIDS awareness and dissemination of Govt. schemes related to water Literary and nutrition. .
- The significant contribution to the national development also includes ‘Constructions of small Road’ Special camps with the theme ‘Healthy Youth for Healthy India’ the fund generation for needy people.
